The Yucatan peninsula holds a plethora of adventure options outside of the resorts of Cancun. Spend a while in the best beach in the world at Tulum. Swim or scuba in the many fresh water cinotes that run in a complex cave system or experience an awesome theme park at Xcaret.
Volunteer and learn to surf with the children at Misión México in Tapachula, located on the coast in the south-west corner of the country. If you have time to spare it will be a unique experience to support over 50 orphaned kids of varying ages.
