Running was under clear and sunny skies, yet not too hot, a wonderful time of the year to run. A brief stop was had at the interactive sun-dial at the top of Oxley Hill where you can use your body to tell the time! This was made even more interesting by a plaque giving tribute to the local Aboriginal people who helped the early European explorers discover this area. After a brief rest, it was down into historic Berrima. This is a popular stop between Sydney and Canberra and a perfect place to grab a pie.\r\n<h3>Running Stats:<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Distance: 10.5km<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Pie Time: 55 mins<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Pie Charts:<\/h3>\r\nA standard beef pie was sampled along with a close cousin to the pie, a sausage roll. We were quite familiar with the Gumnut Patisserie menu by now as we'd already visited the two other outlets in the Southern Highlands. Each pastry held up well, and while the $2 dine-in charge made sense on a weekend, it seemed a bit overkill on a weekday when only a few tables were taken. Anyway, we enjoyed a takeaway pie in the nearby park in the sun\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pies:<\/strong> Beef; Sausage Roll<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pastry:<\/strong>\u00a0Almost consistent with the Bowral store, although Bowral had more flaky layers. Sausage roll pastry was a delight.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Filling:<\/strong>\u00a0The standard beef pie was a solid option. It had hearty chunks of beef and was immediately edible at a perfect temperature. The sausage roll was in a word, awesome.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong> $6:20 for gourmet pies; $5:30 for classics.
