Winding country roads were well suited to a Sunday motorcycle ride. Alas, I'd have to proceed on two feet! Plenty to see with alpaca farms and cellar doors in abundance particularly along the final stretch of the run along Sallys Corner Road. Final stretch past the cellar doors of Sallys Corner Rd.<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\nHeatherbrae's Pies is the most convenient location to grab a pie on the Hume Highway between Sydney and Canberra. We visited on a Sunday and they were doing a roaring weekend trade. With plenty of indoor\u00a0seating, there is plenty of room to dine-in to take a break\u00a0from the road. Two specials were on offer in celebration of Pie Time. So it was decided we'd go with the specials\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pies:<\/strong>\u00a0Beef Burgundy; Duck with Lemon Pepper.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pastry:<\/strong>\u00a0Pastry was soft and flaky, no complaints!<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Filling:<\/strong>\u00a0The duck and lemon pepper wasn't our favourite filling, the beef\u00a0&amp; burgundy though was a hearty winter warmer to take the chill out of the bones. There are so many options to try at Heatherbrea's Pies that I can't imagine anyone goes away disappointed.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong> $7 for the special pies of the week.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Sauce tax:<\/strong> None! The unique 'tractorless' farming technique uses sheep, designed to provide a sustainable way of producing grapes and without the use of pesticides. We'll be doing a special write up on Tractorless Vineyard shortly.
