It's eclectic display of murals, local artwork and exposed brick decor would bring out the hipster in just about anyone. And, for a cafe this size, it was almost full when we visited on a regular Tuesday lunchtime in winter.\r\n\r\n<div id=\"attachment_23913\" style=\"width: 957px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23913\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23913\" src=\"https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-interior.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"947\" height=\"710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-interior.jpg 947w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-interior-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-interior-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-interior-81x61.jpg 81w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 947px) 100vw, 947px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-23913\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Enjoy a well-cooked pie by the fire at the Mill Cafe in Bowral.<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\nThe Mill Cafe is attached to an appealing co-working space for design agencies and budding entrepreneurs. The theme continues out the back where every third Friday of the month the Fri-yay event\u00a0happens. Think craft beer, dumplings, pho, cheese and Russian crepes. Quite a mix! Plus, a gold coin donation on entry goes to local and international charities.\r\n\r\n<div id=\"attachment_23916\" style=\"width: 957px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23916\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23916\" src=\"https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-precinct.jpg\" alt=\"the mill cafe bowral\" width=\"947\" height=\"710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-precinct.jpg 947w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-precinct-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-precinct-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mill-cafe-precinct-81x61.jpg 81w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 947px) 100vw, 947px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-23916\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Mill Precinct is home to Fri-YaY celebrations on the third Friday of every month.<\/p><\/div>\r\n<h3>Running Stats:<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Distance: 2.5km<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Pie Time: 0:15<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Pie Charts:<\/h3>\r\nThe Pie Time special, a beef and ebony porter pie was not available on our visit so we deferred to the Chicken and Mushroom Pie which was the pie of the day.\u00a0 Now, I have a high personal disregard for mushrooms, so I took one for the team in this case because of Pie Time and let's just say I was not disappointed. And, Erin ordered the fish cakes which were amazing.\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pies:<\/strong> Chicken &amp; mushroom, served with salad on a parsnip mash; Fish cakes\u00a0&amp; salad<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pastry:<\/strong>\u00a0The pastry broke away effortlessly and was a definite butter based pastry, no vege shortening here folks.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Filling:<\/strong>\u00a0Large pieces of chicken surrounded by a creamy gravy made this pie a real hit. There was no overpowering mushroom taste at all. The mash had a nice texture and sharpness to it as well.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\u00a0$18<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Sauce tax:<\/strong> None. Though for this gourmet, dine-in pie.
