I thought this the first time and was confirmed by my second visit, there is not much to Exeter. Not to be critical, this is actually its charm. An antique store, the general store, a church, the local oval, the railway station, all you really need! The concept of the general store still serves its purpose by acting as the cafe, restaurant, newsagent, post office, library, grocer and of course local gossip central!\r\n\r\n<div id=\"attachment_23938\" style=\"width: 957px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23938\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23938\" src=\"https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/exeter-general-store-interior.jpg\" alt=\"exeter general store\" width=\"947\" height=\"710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/exeter-general-store-interior.jpg 947w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/exeter-general-store-interior-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/exeter-general-store-interior-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/exeter-general-store-interior-81x61.jpg 81w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 947px) 100vw, 947px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-23938\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The general store at Exeter where it pretty much caters for everything!<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\n<h3>Running Stats:<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Distance: 18km<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Pie Time: 1 hour and 45 minutes<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Pie Charts:<\/h3>\r\nThe pie special of the day and only pie on the menu was a lamb &amp; rosemary pie. The lunchtime crowd was in full swing and we barely got a table!\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pies:<\/strong> Lamb &amp; Rosemary, served with salad.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pastry:<\/strong>\u00a0The pastry was soft and made the pie look plump and inviting.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Filling:<\/strong>\u00a0A solid lamb &amp; rosemary. The rosemary took the stage in the battle of the flavours. The lamb may have been a little overcooked. We're being critical as we've come off the back of some VERY good pies.
