After running a marathon punctuated with 3 stops at various pie shops on the coldest day of the year I was sore, a little nauseous with a dose\u00a0of hypothermia. So I was not able to fully appreciate what is one of the nicest towns in southern NSW. But like the Southern Pies slogan, this is all 'For the love of pie'.\r\n\r\n<div id=\"attachment_24005\" style=\"width: 957px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24005\" class=\"size-full wp-image-24005\" src=\"https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/southern-pies-kangaroo-valley-store.jpg\" alt=\"southern pies kangaroo valley\" width=\"947\" height=\"710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/southern-pies-kangaroo-valley-store.jpg 947w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/southern-pies-kangaroo-valley-store-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/southern-pies-kangaroo-valley-store-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/slingadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/southern-pies-kangaroo-valley-store-81x61.jpg 81w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 947px) 100vw, 947px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-24005\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The end of the road. Marathon finish line at Southern Pies.<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\nSouthern Pies is relatively new, being established in 2013, however, they are fully focused on crafting the perfect pie and their store is a new and exciting entrant in the region with another store over in Bomaderry. The following quote on their website captures their\u00a0pie-fectionsim.\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p class=\"sling-font\" style=\"font-size: 35px;\">\"For us, the perfect pie is balance. Balance of flavours and seasoning. The right ratio of filling to pastry. Pastry that isn\u2019t too greasy and melts in your mouth, but doesn\u2019t fall apart. Lean meat, cooked until tender.\"<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<h3>Running Stats:<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Distance: 42.2km<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Pie Running Time: 4 hours and 30 minutes<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Pie Charts:<\/h3>\r\nSouthern Pies is known for its Cheeseburger pie.\u00a0 And, quite frankly, we could not go without tasting this pie.\u00a0A fusion made in heaven of all that is good with fast food.\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pies:<\/strong>\u00a0Cheeseburger pie (yes these exist!); Classic meat pie<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Pastry:<\/strong>\u00a0The pastry met their quote of not being too greasy and melt in your mouth. Not the best pastry we've tried but still rock solid and reliable.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Filling:<\/strong>\u00a0Cheeseburger filling was done exceptionally well. If you close your eyes you would think you are actually eating a burger.
