Which of course was a nice co-incidence\u00a0given today's pie was to be enjoyed at The Scottish Arms in Bowral. Opened in 2007, it pays tribute to the strong Scottish history of the region, in particular, the old mining town nearby at Joadja. This is what drew many Scottish migrant families to the Southern Highlands from as far back as 1878.\r\n\r\n

A tribute to the mining history of Scottish Settlers in the region.<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\nBack in the present day, I felt a little desperate waiting out front for this pub to open at midday. However, I was soon joined by quite a hungry hoard of fellow patrons.\u00a0 By 12:15 pm the cavernous interior was three-quarters full and I decided to quickly get my order in. The Scottish Arms runs a mid-week special of $20 for all mains (including a beer, wine or soft-drink), no doubt responsible for the crowds!\r\n
